              B-C’s premier says the province’s 100-million-dollar fund to support wildfire relief programs will be matched by Ottawa. John Horgan says the federal contribution will help communities in the Interior recover from last summer’s wildfire season, which prompted a provincial state of emergency. The fires destroyed more than 11-thousand hectares of forests, ranch lands and communities. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged to help support relief efforts after joining Horgan on a tour of the wildfire zone in a Canadian Forces helicopter last summer.
