B-C Liberals have elected Andrew Wilkinson to lead the party after former premier Christy Clark stepped down last year. Wilkinson ran with an old-school, stick to our roots message that elevated the party’s values of free enterprise and fiscal conservatism. He says the first order of business will be making sure the party retains Clark’s former seat in the legislature. Wilkinson also began to galvanize the party to fight a referendum this fall on proportional representation, saying it would only benefit the N-D-P and Greens who support changing the province’s voting system.
