The B-C government has proclaimed April as wine month following a boycott of the province’s wines in Alberta. It means public liquor stores will have storefront displays promoting B-C wines and more in-store tastings. The government will also be helping small and medium producers that don’t typically sell their products outside of wineries distribute through the public stores and market B-C V-Q-A wines to new international markets. The government says there are nearly 1,000 vineyards across B-C and efforts to protect jobs and support the industry is necessary while the trade spat with Alberta over the Trans Mountain pipeline continues.
